Terms of Service
Last updated: May 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using CodeHost services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including those on free trials.
2. Description of service
CodeHost provides hosting for open-source applications with one-click deployment, automatic infrastructure management, and revenue sharing with open-source maintainers. Each application is billed individually based on the size tier (Small, Medium, or Large) selected for it. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with 30 days' notice for non-critical changes and immediate notice for security-critical changes.
3. Accounts and billing
You must provide accurate account information. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Each deployed application is billed monthly or annually at the rate for its selected size tier. Your total charge is the sum of all applications you have running. New applications include a 3-day free trial. Infrastructure resources (RAM, CPU, storage) are defined by each application's size tier and may be changed by resizing the application, with billing prorated accordingly. Refunds are available within 14 days of any charge. To request a refund, contact billing@codehost.app.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: deploy apps that distribute malware, spam, or illegal content; attempt to circumvent infrastructure limits or security controls; resell the service without authorization; or use the service to attack other systems. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these policies. We will provide notice before suspension except in cases of active abuse.
5. Your data
You retain full ownership of all data in your deployed applications. We do not access, read, or monetize your app data. You may export your data at any time. Upon account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days.
6. Service level agreement
Applications on the Large size tier receive a 99.99% uptime SLA. SLA credits are issued as service credits equal to 10x the duration of downtime, applied to future invoices. SLA claims must be submitted within 30 days of the incident.
7. Intellectual property
CodeHost's branding, software, and service design are our intellectual property. You may not use our trademarks without written permission. Your deployed applications remain your intellectual property and the property of their respective open-source licenses.
8. Liability
CodeHost's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for data loss caused by application misconfiguration, third-party software failures, or force majeure events.
9. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time. We may terminate accounts with 30 days' notice for non-critical reasons and immediately for violations of these terms or active security threats. Upon termination, your data will be available for export for 30 days.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice. Material changes will be communicated via email and dashboard notification. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
